Tuere Hughes-Kapenzi, MD, MBA

Dr. Hughes is a Board-certified pediatrician who has been practicing in Maryland for over 10 years. She is well-versed in all child health issues and sees children and young adults from birth until age 21. She has special interests in breastfeeding counseling, children with special needs, behavioral counseling, and adolescent and young adult care. She is passionate about caring for children and young adults,  understands parenting and all that it entails, and can't wait to be a part of your child's care team. She resides in the Waldorf area with her husband, two children, and puppy. She enjoys traveling, reading, and boxing and hip-hop step classes for fitness.

Oluchukwu "Oly" Usoh, PA-C

PA Oly is a Board-certified physician assistant from Indian Head, Maryland. PA Oly graduated Summa Cum Laude from Coppin State University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology & Life Sciences. She then earned a Master of Science in Physician Assistant studies degree from South University. PA Oly has special interests in Psychiatry, and Behavioral/Mental Health. She enjoys reading, writing and watching romantic comedies. She is also a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.

Darby Capellin, PA-C

PA Darby completed her Master of Physician Assistant Studies at Lipscomb University and was raised in the Tampa Bay area. She is happy to be a part of Above & Beyond Pediatrics’ growth. Darby values high-quality care to all children from infants to adolescents to best prepare them for a healthy life. She relocated to Maryland to serve the pediatric community and pursue her love for sailing.

Monica Patel, DNP, PNP

Dr. Patel is a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner who received her Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of Maryland, Baltimore. She completed her pediatric clinical training in both rural and suburban areas of Maryland, focusing on school-based health and pediatric primary care. She has special interests in childhood obesity and helping first-time Moms navigate their first year with their child. She resides in Washington, D.C., with her husband and son. In her free time, she enjoys being active with her family playing flag football, hiking, traveling, and trying new recipes.

Brittany Caradine, MSN, CPNP-PC

NP Brittany is a board certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner, with 11 years of medical experience. Brittany earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from St. John Fisher University and her Master of Science in Nursing from SUNY Upstate Medical University. Brittany’s professional interests include: breastfeeding, health promotion and maintenance, mental health, and increasing access to healthcare. She lives in the Waldorf area with her husband, son, and their toy poodle. Brittany enjoys DIY projects, cooking, and creating content in her spare time.

Malavika Nair, PA-C

PA Malavika is a board-certified Physician Assistant from Richmond, Virginia. She earned her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Elon University, where she developed a strong foundation in providing compassionate, evidence-based care to children and adolescents. Malavika is committed to fostering meaningful relationships with families and supporting the health and well-being of children at every stage of their development. Outside of the office, Malavika enjoys traveling with her husband, weight lifting, and expressing her creativity as a makeup artist. She is excited to be a trusted partner in your child’s healthcare journey.

Adrienne James

Adrienne is our Office Manager and has been working in the medical/customer service field for over 13 years. She has a bubbly personality, is always willing to help, and has a keen ability to connect with people and make them feel comfortable and welcome. She is the embodiment of what we believe in at Above & Beyond Pediatrics. Her favorite thing about her job is "being able to socialize, expand my knowledge of the medical field, and to support Dr. Hughes as Above & Beyond Pediatrics continues to grow".
